Granollers and Lopez stunned fifth seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna 7-5, 3-6, 10-3 in the title match of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London on Monday night.

Nadal posted on his facebook page, "Congratulations Champions! What you have achieved is amazing! With you, the Davis Cup is closer!”

Granollers and Lopez became just the second doubles team from their country to win the season finale. They joined hands just in this February and were making their debut at this event. This was the Spanish pair’s third title of this season.

The King of clay had been closely following his compatriots David Ferrer and this doubles team at the season ending championships. Ferrer could not reach the last-four stage but Granollers and Lopez kept him busy throughout the tournament. Nadal had also posted two previous statuses for his friends during the ATP World Tour Finals.

When Granollers and Lopez upset the most successful doubles team in the tennis history Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan, Nadal wrote, "Luck to Granollers and Marc López Tarrés! Well played to the Bryan! We are luck to have this great couple to the Davis Cup (A) the master and the Davis!”

The second one came when the Spanish tandem reached the semi-finals. Then Nadal stated, "Vamos Marcel & Marc !!! Congrats for the match played and good luck for the final. Good vibrations in the way to Prague.”

If one notices, Nadal has mentioned Davis Cup in all of his three posts. The Spaniard, who has been leading his country at the team event for more than half decade now, could hardly represent his country this year. Spain will take on Czech Republic in the Davis Cup final at the coming weekend in Prague but Nadal cannot take part due to his knee injury.

Though, Nadal’s support is always with his country and his compatriots. The Spaniard is strongly backing Granollers and Lopez as they have to play the crucial doubles rubber which may decide the result of the tie. Spain is looking to win its sixth title in the last 13 years
