Falcao won't go for less than €60m
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo insists the bidding to sign Radamel Falcao starts at €60 million
Right now he is the best number nine in world
football,” said Cerezo after Sunday's efforts took his total in an
Atletico shirt to 40 goals in 48 games. "But he still has a lot of
football to play.
"It’s the first time I’ve seen a player score five goals here. Christian Vieri and Milinko Patic got four, but never five.”
When asked about the possibility of Falcao moving elsewhere in the
January transfer window or the end of the season, the Atletico president

Time running out for Ancelotti at PSG
After stumbling through the last month, Paris Saint-Germain's 2-1
defeat in Nice - the birthplace of Garibaldi - on Saturday may have
signalled the beginning of the end for the Italian experiment at the
Parc des Princes.
Supposedly all-powerful PSG coming undone against relatively limited
opponents has become a familiar theme in recent weeks. Over the last
month they have been beaten at home by Saint-Etienne and nine-man
Rennes, while also being held to a draw in Montpellier.
That last result sparked, in coach Carlo Ancelotti's own words, a
"crisis", before wins against Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League and at
home to Troyes last weekend settled the mood around the club. But,
since then, PSG have been knocked out of th

Vettel’s triple crown
Sebastian Vettel did exactly what he needed to last weekend in Brazil to take 3 title— but what other moments helped the German elevate his status from champion to legend this season?
Vettel with three world titles, and is one of only three to have taken three
in a row. Each success has demonstrated his development as a driver and a
person, but this time the fitting 'baton transfer' between him and his
countryman, the retiring seven-time champion Michael Schumacher, seemed
to mark a coming of age.
In 2010, Vettel took his first title with a smash-and-grab raid as a
late run of form and a few lucky breaks saw him leapfrog his rivals at
almost the final turn of the season. Last year, with a dominant car, it
was far more controlled wi

Red Bull will use new-spec alternator
Renault
will switch Red Bull on to its newest specification of alternator for
the championship decider in Brazil following Mark Webber's failure in
the United States Grand Prix.
Webber suffered Red Bull's third alternator failure in a race this year at Austin, dropping him out of third position.
That problem prompted concerns from the team about that area of the
car, which has left engine partner Renault in no doubt that Red Bull
must switch to the newer spec for this weekend's Interla

Shevchenko turns down
Ukraine job
Former Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko has turned down an offer to manage the national team.
"I believe that today leading the national team of
Ukraine is a somewhat premature step for me," Shevchenko, the record
marksman for his country with 48 goals in 111 appearances, said in a
statement published on the Ukrainian Football Federation's website.
"I hope the leadership of the Football Federation will understand my decision," he added.
Shevchenko, 36, who played for AC Milan and Chelsea as well as Dyn

Four-goal IbrahimovicInternational Friendlies
It was 'Zlatan Ibrahimovic 4 England 2' as Sweden
opened up Stockholm's Friends Arena with an international friendly win
over an experimental England side.
After opening the scoring on 20 minutes and going down as the first
man to score a goal at the 54,329-seater stadium in the Swedish capital,
Paris Saint-Germain striker Ibrahimovic wrote more history in the
second half after goals from Danny Welbeck and debutant Steven Caulker
in a three-minute spell put England ahead at the interval.
A quality chested-down volley restored parity 13 minutes from time
before a driven low free-kick on 84 and an unreal 25-yard overhead kick
in stoppag

Chelsea's slide down our European Power Rankings continues this week, while Internazionale are the biggest climbers.
It is not just raining for Chelsea at the moment, it is pouring. In a
rather fitting torrential deluge in Swansea at the weekend, the Blues
dropped yet more points in their Premier League campaign, Pablo
Hernandez's late strike and the 1-1 scoreline seeing them cede top spot
to rivals Manchester United.
Chelsea may have got the better of United in a thrilling midweek
League Cup encounter, but it is the London club's Premier League form
that is reflected in our own standings this week, with the Blues shunted
another place down the pecking order in

Murray overcomes Berdych to make winning start
Andy Murray dropped the first set to Tomas
Berdych before recovering to complete a 3-6 6-3 6-4 win over the world
number six in his ATP World Tour finals opener at London's 02.
Murray is now level at 4-4 with Berdych in career meetings, but it
was perhaps of minimal surprise that the US Open champion, seeded third
here, could not find the formula to break his Czech opponent in the
opening set of the Group A match as seven break points came and went
with Berdych escaping courtesy of some poignant serve-and-volley
tactics.
Berdych was not so profligate as he backed up Murray wi

seconds behind the Finn after reeling him in with a string of fastest
laps, to close the gap with Vettel to 10 points with two races
remaining.
